Hot! World War Z Actors Drop Out of Filming

Apparently both Ed Harris and Matthew Fox have backed out of starring in Plan B’s adaptation of World War Z. According to Dread Central, Harris’ exit was unclear but Fox left the movie due to scheduling conflicts with another film he had agreed to star in. While I’m disappointed and surprised by Fox leaving, I can’t say the same for Ed Harris. To me, he’s an established actor and a constant student of his craft. With the zombie genre coming dangerously close to a “fad” label, and given the way the World War Z novel splits into different locales quite often, I can see how one would be a little leery in starring such a film. Accepting a lesser role in a popular albeit trendy movie could have turned off Harris. That’s a shame since I really enjoyed him in most of the flicks I’ve seen him in. Maybe Liam Neeson can take his place. Became a huge fan of his oldish badassery after watching Taken. From lightsaber wielding Jedi Master to a government spy who kills off half of Europe to get to his daughter? What’s not to like about the guy???
