Glen Mazzarra Speaks On The Only Thing Scarier Than Zombies

For those unfamiliar with The Walking Dead‘s showrunner Glen Mazzarra, I included a handy caption in the picture above. For those who needed those captions, start watching The Walking Dead dammit. Mazzarra was abruptly named executive producer in the middle of the second season of TWD. Much hoopla and speculation was made from the change, and I threw up a little in my mouth when I heard the news myself. Not because I thought Glen sucked as a producer and writer, but rather that abrupt unplanned changes in a show rarely net anything fruitful in terms of success. Thankfully, Mazzarra did not disappoint and presented viewers with an excellent product. In this video by The Hollywood Reporter, the head honcho of the show gets into detail about how scary it was taking over the show from Darabont.

I can just imagine the mood once Darabont skedaddled. “We’re doomed! We’re going to get moved to Lifetime! Oh noes!” By the graces of God that didn’t happen. Working with the writers immediately was a step in the right direction, so hopefully for the third season of The Walking Dead we wont have any more untimely departures or budget cuts.
