Hot! UPDATE: The Official Cover For Issue 100 Of The Walking Dead

If you haven’t been keeping up with The Walking Dead comic series… WTF IS WRONG WITH YOU. In celebration of the big 100, Skybound has released 9 variant covers. And all of them were damn good. A look at the past and a view of things to come and everything in between. I won’t spoil the story thus far, but things are getting progressively crazier by the issue. Kirkman, Adlard, and Rathburn have been on the top of their game and keep the surprises coming. I’d still take the comic over the television series any day of the week, so I might just go out and buy an extra copy to frame for around the house.

With that said, EW states that this cover is the final that’ll be shipping to stores in a few months. Our hero Rick looks kind of like he’s rocking a variant of Bieber hair but we’ll give him a pass on that. Based on the spittle coming out of his mouth he’s been running quite a while, while a bunch of walkers and some sort of stadium is in the background. Perhaps zombies don’t like humans at their tailgates? Who knows. While we wait with bated breath for issue #100, you might want to get caught up on the series if you haven’t already. As soon as the issue drops you’ll get a review from us. Hopefully it’s a long one and a doozy. By the looks of the way things are shaping up now I know it won’t disappoint.

EDIT: A reader was kind enough to inform me that the initial cover I posted is only a special edition cover that will be released for folks who signed up to do the PETCO Park obstacle course at Comic Con 2012. The real official cover is this wraparound with Rick hovering over a pile of bodies of his former enemies, friends, and family. Rest In Peace Dale and Tyrese. Burn in Hell Shane!!!
