Hot! World War Z Delayed Yet Again Due To Rewrites

Looks like this is the closest thing to the Battle of Yonkers rabid WWZ fans will get for the foreseeable future.

Even more disappointing news from World War Z. Looks like there’s going to be a rewrite for a portion of the script, which also means the delayed movie will hopefully start re-shoots in the fall of 2012. I for one was under the impression that the budget was there, and the script was fully fleshed out. Just cross your fingers that this won’t be a doomed movie at the hands of Brad Pitt due to his being a control freak and perfectionist. If it is the case, then you can expect the movie to drop the same time Dr. Dre’s Detox album does. Which will be around the time my retirement savings kicks in.

THR reports that Damon Lindelof will be in charge of the “significant” rewrites. If the name or the guy sound familiar, it’s because he’s the co-creator of Lost, and also wrote for the action horror movie Prometheus. Which is good and bad. Good because Lost was a good show for most of its time on the air, and bad because Prometheus was terrible for all the star power it had. For the love of God Lindelof, don’t turn WWZ into another Prometheus.
