The Walking Dead Begins Lets You Shoot Up Walkers As Badass Daryl Dixon

You’ve played The Walking Dead: The Game, now it’s time to make way for The Walking Dead Begins. According to IGN, TWDB will be a first person shooter (my specialty) that will revolve around the AMC developed characters Merle and Daryl Dixon. Players will call on the crossbow and outdoors skills of Daryl, while his cantankerous brother Merle I assume will play backup via AI during skirmishes or puzzle solving sequences, if there are any.
True to the television series, weapons, supplies, and shelter will be very limited. You’ll be forced to use your wits for the most part to evade/destroy zombies that hunt by smell sight and sound. The whole smell part sucks because you could go ninja style and be silent as hell and camouflage yourself, but chances are in the backwoods of Atlanta you’re going to be stinking to high heaven. Unfortunately the teaser video has no actual gameplay which leads me to believe that the video and site serve more as a bookmark of sorts to stick in fans’ minds come Comic Con 2012. The game releases next year under Activision and is being developed by Terminal Reality, the same company that brought you the surprisingly fun Ghostbusters shooter. Given what I’ve already seen from the franchise, I’m cautiously excited about the release of The Walking Dead Begins. However, I think there should be a distinction set in between the story arc of the comic and that of the television series, so as not to confuse people new to the whole franchise.
