Zombies Descend Upon Westboro Baptist Church Gathering In WA

The radical right wing Westboro Baptist Church seems to have some new followers. Except these followers don’t really abide by their zany viewpoints. And I use the word “zany” in the mildest form possible. Turns out the WBC rolled out to Washington to Joint Base Lewis-McChord in order to assert to the world that soldiers’ deaths are a direct result of America’s tolerance and gradual acceptance of same sex marriage. Yeah… Don’t know how the hell they came to that conclusion.

To the WBC members’ surprise, the zombie apocalypse had begun… And instead of brains, they sought to drown out the protestors in front of the base with some trolling of their own. Well played zombies, well played. The perpetrating zombie in charge? Melissa Neace. She started a group on Facebook called “Zombie’ing Westboro Baptist Church Away From Fort Lewis” and on July 28th, 2012, 300 zombies showed up to counteract the WBC’s hateful messages by outpicketing them. Counter-trolling successful. One of the more inventive signs seen at the base was this one below:

For the uninformed, I believe the zombie dressed in white was likening the Westboro Baptist Church to a cult the likes of Jim Jones would have run. The end result? Sipping poisoned Kool Aid in a mass suicide that killed over 900 people. I wouldn’t go so far as to wish suicide on anyone, but I do believe the WBC can stand to use a little more education in their lives. Whether or not you agree with the same sex marriage, you’ve got to be pretty damn weird to assume that it’s directly correlated with combat deaths among American soldiers. Shoutout to the good guy zombies. High fives all around.
