AMC Uses The Walking Dead To Bring Legal Battle To DISH
Shots fired! If you haven’t already seen this, AMC is bringing the fight to DISH. Recently the satellite tv provider dropped AMC from its lineup due to ongoing legal battles and it’s all over the website. Not a good sign for fans of The Walking Dead. DISH represents a rather large segment of viewers so it would behoove both sides to come to an agreement. At the end of the video a walker shambles away carrying a satellite and the website Keep AMC On DISH flashes across the screen.
The simple truth is that DISH is using their consumers as pawns to attempt to gain leverage in a lawsuit involving an old and unrelated business venture that has nothing to do with AMC, nothing to do with our shows or fees, and certainly nothing to do with DISH subscribers, who just want to watch the shows they love and are paying DISH for. You will not see any AMC Networks’ shows on DISH any time soon.
In other words, since DISH’s reason for depriving you of AMC programming is based on a lawsuit that won’t be resolved for a long time, this problem won’t be solved shortly, unlike other disputes between programmers and providers, which typically are resolved in a matter of days (weeks at most).
Ouch. Straight from the horse’s mouth. DISH has yet to reply to the video, but with the growing number of views on Youtube they better get their PR people on it. Makeup artist Sue Lee put her considerable skill set to use creating these zombies and they ended up looking like they could be front and center of The Walking Dead show. Nicotero is somewhere in Mount Olympus for makeup artists smiling.
The reactions from New Yorkers are hilarious. I’m pretty surprised none of the models posing as zombies got punched the f*ck out though. Or stabbed. Then again I don’t think these folks were foolhardy enough to roll into the hood like the faux Miami Zombie did.
To those unfortunate Dish subscribers, I feel for you. Switch ASAP before the start of Season 3 of The Walking Dead!
