Wanted: The Nike Air Max Terra Sertig
As some of you may well know, I’ve got a soft spot for Nike’s ACG line as shown by my previous post around the so-ugly-it’s-cool Meriwether Boot. And obviously this is another entry into the fugly section. I’ve been browsing sites here and there in hopes of finding a solid wet weather shoe ever since my trusty Goadomes kicked the bucket. Well now there’s the Nike Air Max Terra Sertig. Creating any sort of fusion shoe with proven classics is a recipe for disaster but the shoe giant came through in spades here. Outfitted with reflective accents on an all black exterior, there’s full length Max Air with a blend of mesh, nubuck and synthetic leather to provide a weather resistant barrier to the elements.
Add an aggressive outsole fitted to provide traction either on gravel or in the woods and you’ve got yourself a winner. Comfort and ruggedness in a black on black silhouette, just what I was looking for. Although the full length air bubble might cause some durability issues if I’m bugging out in seriously crazy terrain, they have the looks and feel to beat around the city with. The only thing I would have liked is perhaps completely water protection in the form of Gore-Tex, but I’m sure that would have jacked the price up well over $200. And with the holiday season coming about you must be out your damn mind thinking I’ll be spending that kind of loot on myself. Nonetheless, should these stick around for a while on the Nike site, check for a review in the colder months.
Surviving the apocalypse in style, and with bigass air bubbles. That’s my goal.
