Break out the No Doz and dust off your copy of Left 4 Dead two. Mexican Standoff, the people behind the trailer for the first initial fan made Left 4 Dead – The Movie recently dropped another teaser. This time, we get to see Francis pre-outbreak and a bartender buddy who’s likely going to turn into a Boomer. Why a Boomer? Because he’s fat. You see any skinny Boomers in the game? I thought not. The voice overs are mad cheesy thus far but that’s ok. In any zombie horror movie you’re bound to hear something that will assuredly garner an eye roll or two. Conceptualizing mini prequels to add to the story of the film is not only pretty original, but will garner more attention to the finished product. Viral marketing at it’s finest. Fans are appeased with actual footage, and through the like/share/retweet functions, Left 4 Dead – The Movie will pick up some steam. Now if we could only do the reverse to Justin Bieber.

Sun Drop knows how to get a survival party popping. Now all that’s missing is some ratchet music, scantily clad females, and something to get absolutely hammered with. The refreshment subsidiary went big in hiring Rome Kanda to conduct the Taste Master activities. Kanda just so happens to be a cult celebrity to fans of G4 and also served as color commentator on some Japanese tv shoes. And by color I don’t mean yellow. Racists. You might not last any longer during Z-Day with Sun Drop, but at least you’ll die with sugary goodness in you. Plus, the zombies will get you quick. The diabidis you’ll contract from drinking only Sun Drop in your bug out shelter will kill you way slower. Who knew losing your toes one by one could be so tasty? Sun Drop, that’s who. Hence the commercial catering to us hardened survival types. Because we don’t stockpile anything but the finest of carbonated drinks and swankiest of lotions to moisturize our situations and preserve our sexy.

Need proof that governments are hiding stuff from us? Look no further. Chinese news site Longhoo first reported on a thick, smelly, and unidentified ooze seeping from the streett of Nanjing. The ground began to crack up and out came something pretty foul, blocking traffic and stunning bystanders. Instead of doing the sensible thing like getting the hell out of there (the Chinese must have never seen The Blob), curious onlookers stood by as government workers rushed to clean up the scene. Not long after, whatever didn’t get cleaned up retreated back into the cracks, leaving officials, news sources, and witnesses baffled. Holy zombie juice Batman!

Our theory? The Chinese government has an underground facility that it was using to create a super soldier of sorts, with the slime as part of the formula. Only it backfired when holding tanks containing this sludge broken and effectively drowned everyone and destroyed the research. Or some sewage got backed up. Either or.

For a minute there I thought parkour was trying to be the next urban thing. Kind of like kids from the hood skating.

One time I saw a few kids back home in NJ jumping around near the entry of an office building. They were all, “We’re practicing parkour.”

Yeah right, I just shrugged the shorties off. Parkour is the realm of French dudes and people who end up on “Ridiculousness”.

But in this case, some enterprising dude (who may or may not want to work on a movie about european zombies doing double back flips from a ledge) put this video up on Youtube some days ago. It’s not the first time parkour has been mixed with the undead, as we reported on two years ago. The latest parkour + zombie iteration is called “The Flipping Dead,” and was created by pro-parkour-ist and Youtube filmmaker, Ronnie Shalvis.

“It’s funny how 99% of the comments are ‘if zombies could do this we would all be screwed’,” said one sexy commenter on the video. Right, they never tell you how to defend against a fast moving “walker”.

While I’ve never been a fan of the running dead or the flipping dead for that matter (I think the first time I saw fast zombies was in “Return of the Living Dead”), I prefer my walkers to move like I would on a Sunday morning after a bar crawl. But I think it’s important to take not that when Z-Day comes, you might not be able to get away. Speed kills.

Robert Kirkman is riding around and getting it. MONOPOLY MONEY PLAYBOY. Yup, an official The Walking Dead Monopoly game is dropping this year. I’m already speculating on the player pieces and if it will take after the AMC series or the comic series. Based on the prototype box it’ll be the comic in which case we’ll probably have a severed hand, sword, Colt Python, and maybe an AK-74 as pieces. Hopefully something more inventive though. Like Lori’s common sense since she obviously need or use it on TV or in comics.

For some reason unbeknownst to us, at the Billboard Music Awards this year the singer decided to attempt to jump from one portion of the stage to another. In church shoes. You can prolly tell what happens after. One chick got that sweet chin music, and the other got Hulk Hogan Leg Dropped. Your move, WWE. Time to get Cena and CM Punk to get an R&B duets album. Let that be a lesson to women who aren’t dancing vigorously to Miguel’s music:

A New Zealand company hopes it can cash in on all you armchair Rick Grimeses out there.

With a plethora of zombie prep boot camps around the world, the outfit Apocalypse Events Ltd wants to take all of that just a step further. The idea: create a tourism destination where you pick up weapons and battle your way through a horde of flesh eaters using your wits, weapons and survival skills. If you want your life to be like a movie then this is the thing for you, once it gets up and running. And let’s face it. No matter how many movies, TV shows or video games you play, survival takes some boots-on-the-ground practice. The company, co-founded by an ex-Australian soldier, has been looking for investment funding so it can begin operating.

The idea seems similar to other ventures, especially the Zed events outfit in the UK, where you can live out a George Romero nightmare and even “rent a zombie” if that’s up your alley. But this New Zealand tourism idea takes interactive prepping for a zombie apocalypse scenario just that much further. The apocalypse tourism company is looking for $200,000 (in whatever currency the Kiwis use to buy stuff) to get started. Can’t be mad at that hustle.

The co-creator, and weapons expert, Ross Gibson originally wanted to create the adventure in Australia, he said in an article posted on Stuff. But, because they’ve banned air guns he can’t – just yet.

“I supposed the idea has always been there. It has existed ever since the first time my mates and I had a conversation about ‘what would you do if the zombie apocalypse actually happened?’ A conversation that I now know is universal.”

“It just took me and my girlfriend visiting New Zealand to realise that the apocalypse is possible.”

I think it’s a great idea. Who wants to sit around just shooting at stuff at a bootcamp and talking about Z-Day prep when you can actually take aim and bust some heads and be one step closer to the real thing?

Sure, we’ve told you about zombie weed before, but let’s face it weed heads: There’s no future in your smoking.

Just this month the DC Department of Health’s Addiction Prevention & Recovery Administration launched a social marketing campaign called K2 Zombie DC.

In the last several years the law enforcement establishment has been buzzing about a weed-alternative that’s super easy to get and is spinning some kids way out of control.  Turning them into “zombies,” even.

We know it’s tough out there in the Chocolate City (word to Wale Folarin) and the use of spice or K2 has been booming. So, some masterminds in our nation’s capital have flipped the entire zombie prep subculture and turned it into an anti-drug announcement.

Whatever gets the kid’s attention, I guess. And maybe it’s just due because according to the health department, the use of K2 has been on the rise since 2008, and kids barely over 13 are huffin the stuff. They say, “Fake weed causes extreme anxiety, paranoia, panic attacks, alienation/disassociation, psychotic episodes and hallucinations,” according to the K2 Zombie website.  “This behavior has been labeled the “zombie” effect”.

It’s too bad that drug policy in America leads to things like the increase in synthetic substance abuse, but apparently this stuff is really killing kids all over the place.

Unfortunately, it’s official. Amazon canned the rest of the Zombieland series. That didn’t take long at all. Need proof? Look no further than Rhett Reese’s Twitter:

Our Zombieland series will not be moving forward on Amazon. Sad for everyone involved. I’ll never understand the vehement hate the pilot received from die-hard Zombieland fans. You guys successfully hated it out of existence. Anyway, we did our best, and we’re very proud of our team.

Damn. As Jay said, it was all good a week ago. While I’ve yet to check the pilot (travesty, I know), I heard the show wasn’t as bad as some people were indicating. I would have liked to see a whole season before Zombieland: The Series got put out to pasture but hey, showbiz sucks sometimes. Maybe another network will pick it up. We can always hope right? In any case, best wishes to the cast and crew of the extremely short lived show. It had potential, but apparently Silky Johnson caliber haters came out of the woodwork to put down a somewhat promising series.

Brace yourselves readers. Max Brooks is dropping another work. And it’s about… Vampires?

It’s not as bad as you think. Just check the quick blurb about Extinction Parade from Avatar:

So essentially, boughie vampires get their futures threatened from an undead threat devouring their food source. My guess is that they’re also too uppity to dine on other animals too. Assholes. The theme seems to go along with the AVP franchise and the tagline of “Whoever wins, we lose.” I like the dynamic Brooks has thrown into the comic series though. Humans fighting vampires and zombies, zombies fighting vampires and humans, and vampires fighting zombies to save humans who they’ll eventually want to eat. Let’s be real though. The pure number of zombies would wipe out those manicured prissy bloodsuckers in a hot minute. CMON SON. Still, the new take on an age old debate from a zombie genre luminary is definitely worth a read. Watch for it soon.
